CGSB is

3、engaged in the production of voluntary standards in a wide range of subject areas through the media of standards committees and the consensus process. The standards committees are composed of representatives of relevant interests including producers, consumers and other users, retailers, governments

4、, educational institutions, technical, professional and trade societies, and research and testing organizations. Any given standard is developed on the consensus of views expressed by such representatives. CGSB has been accredited by the Standards Council of Canada as a national standards-developmen

5、t organization. The standards that it develops and offers as National Standards of Canada conform to the criteria and procedures established for this purpose by the Standards Council of Canada. In addition to standards it publishes as national standards, CGSB produces standards to meet particular ne

6、eds, in response to requests from a variety of sources in both the public and private sectors. Both CGSB standards and CGSB national standards are developed in conformance with the policies described in the CGSB Policy Manual for the Development and Maintenance of Standards. CGSB standards are subje

7、ct to review and revision to ensure that they keep abreast of technological progress. Suggestions for their improvement, which are always welcome, should be brought to the notice of the standards committees concerned. Changes to standards are issued either as separate amendment sheets or in new edit

8、ions of standards. SCOPE 1.1 This standard specifies the chemical and physical requirements for a ready-to

30、-use and a concentrated liquid product of defined composition, used for cleaning windows and other glass surfaces. The liquid glass cleaner is not suitable for cleaning plastic surfaces and it should not be used as an automatic windshield washer fluid because of the deleterious effects it may have o

31、n other surfaces of the vehicle. The windshields may be cleaned by hand with this product. 1.2 1.3 The testing and evaluation of a product against this standard may require the use of materials andior equipment that could be hazardous. It may conta

38、in a stable dye. It shall have no injurious effect on the skin and shall contain no ingredients that are toxic under normal conditions of use. The glass cleaner shall be stable and shall not lose effectiveness or otherwise deteriorate when stored in an unopened container for one year at temperatures

39、 between 10 and 40C. DETAILED REQUIREMENTS Composition - The glass cleaner shall contain synthetic detergent, water and solvent(s) (e.g. alcohol, glycol, glycol ether). Ethylene glycol monomethyl ether and ethylene glycol monoethyl ether shall not be used. In the analysis of the glass cleaner for th

41、content, % by mass o. 1 0.5 1 .o 2.0 Par. 7.3.2 PH 7.0 11.0 7.0 11.0 CAN/CGSB-2.11 Method 18.1 Identification of Non-volatile Matter - When tested in accordance with CAN/CGSB-2.11, Method 30.1, the non- volatile matter shall consist of synthetic detergent together with colounng agent. The type of de

42、tergent (i.e. anionic, cationic or nonionic) to be used is not specified but shall be reported. Corrosion and Discolouration of Aluminum Alloys - When tested in accordance with par. 7.3.3, the glass cleaner shall not produce visible corrosion or discolouration on an aluminum alloy panel. PREPARATION

43、 FOR DELIVERY Packaging Packing and Marking - Unless otherwise specified (par. 8.1), normal commercial packaging, packing and marking shall be acceptable. Labelling The label shall comply with the requirements of any relevant Government Acts and Regulations. Environmental claims and/or representatio

44、n shall follow Industry Canadas “Principles and Guidelines for Environmental Labelling and Advertising.” In addition to complying with the labelling requirements of any relevant Government Acts and Regulations, each container and each shipping container shall be suitably marked with the following in

45、formation printed in boldface type, and the label shall be securely affixed to the container: GLASS CLEANER Manufacturers or suppliers name This product is subject to THE TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS regulations for packaging and labelling, which differ according to the mode of transport. 2 CAN

INSPECTION Reference to the standard on

48、 7.3.1.1 Determine the percentage of synthetic detergent in accordance with CANICGSB-2.11, Method 17.2. 7.3.1.2 Calculate the total solvent content as follows: % total solvent = 100 - (% water + % non-volatile matter) 7.3.2 Non-volatile Content 7.3.2.1 Apparatus Drying Oven - Capable of maintaining

49、a temperature in the range of 100 to 105C. Once the desired temperature is reached, it shall remain stable within lr2“C.
