Previous versions DIN 22255: 2001-08 DIN 22255:2012-05 4 1 Scope This standard applies to flat link chains with the same pitch (round steel link chains with flattened vertical links which may be either fo
7、rged or welded) subjected to traction in chain conveyors preferably in mining operations. They are used whenever the profiles of the conveyors do not permit the use of the round steel link chain according to DIN 22252 of the same nominal size. This standard specifies requirements for the design, sel
8、ection of materials, test procedures and working forces. Flat link chains according to this standard shall not be used as lifting accessories, slings or loadbearing devices within the meaning of DIN 15003. 2 Normative references The following documents, in whole or in part, are normatively reference

An odd number of chain links is required. 5 Requirements 5.1 Material Flat link
32、chains shall be manufactured from a material selected by the manufacturer to comply with the requirements of this standard (at least 23 MnNiCrMo5-4, material No. 1.6758 according to DIN 17115). Materials with deviating chemical compositions shall be agreed when placing the order. 5.2 Manufacture The
33、 weld shall be produced by a flash-butt welding process and shall be positioned in the centre of a leg of the link. The weld shall be smoothly finished all round. 5.3 Heat treatment The complete flat link chain shall be hardened from a temperature range above the Ac3point with subsequent tempering i
34、n order to fulfil the specified mechanical properties. 5.4 Hardness Hardness 350 HV10 to 390 HV10 / 345 HBW10/3000 to 385 HBW10/3000 (ISO 18265 conversion 1 097 MPa to 1 220 MPa B.2 HV/HB). Deviating hardness values are possible for special types of flat link chains and shall be agreed. DIN 22255:20
35、12-05 10 5.5 Dimensions After completion of the production process of the flat link chains, the dimensions shall be within the tolerances specified in Table 1. In addition to Table 1, Table 2 also applies to matched long chain strands (twin-inboard chains). The weld diameter dsshall not be more than
36、 2 % less than the diameter measured adjacent to the weld and shall not exceed it by more than 3 %. The weld length a shall not exceed the dimension 0,7 d. 5.6 Mechanical properties After heat treatment, the complete flat link chain shall be subjected to a manufacturing proof force which corresponds
37、 to at least the values of the test force TF specified in Table 3. The upper limit of the manufacturing proof force shall not exceed the test force value TF by more than 15 %. The elongation at test force shall not exceed the value specified in Table 3. The breaking force BF shall reach at least the
38、 values specified in Table 3. The ultimate elongation A shall not be less than the value specified in Table 3. The bend deflection f shall not reveal any cracks or other visible defects. For flat link chains with a tensile strength of 1 097 MPa Rm 1 220 MPa, the base material in the leg and in the c
39、urve of non-aged normal samples with a V-notch shall exhibit a notched bar impact energy of 57 J at room temperature as the mean value of three samples per material batch used, whereby none of the individual values shall be below 70 % of the stipulated mean value (40 J). Samples for pendulum impact
40、testing of forged flat links are required from the leg area only. In the fatigue test, at least 70 000 cycles shall be achieved per sample under the forces specified in Table 4. 43、ition created by the heat treatment. Any deviating surfaces shall be agreed when placing the order. The flat link chains shall be free from surface cracks and notches which impair their usability. 6 Tests 6.1 General The tests shall be carried out following a visual assessment of the total quantity.
44、 With the exception of the dimension test, these tests will be destructive component tests on samples of the finished flat link chains taken lot by lot with a natural black surface finish. Due to the change in friction behaviour in the interlink contact area of corrosion-protected or bright flat lin
45、k chains, the breaking force values and ultimate elongation values shall be deemed to meet the requirements if the breaking force is at least 90 % and the ultimate elongation is at least 80 % of the respective values for the natural black flat steel link chain of the same nominal size. The scope of
46、tests covers the dimension test according to 6.4, the tensile test according to 6.5, the bending test according to 6.6 and the hardness test according to 6.7. Any further tests, such as the pendulum impact test according to 7.1 or fatigue test according to 7.2, shall be agreed when placing an order.
47、 6.2 Lot size A single lot comprises a manufacturing unit of 100 m or 100 chain strands provided these are not longer than 1 m. Any started manufacturing unit is deemed to be a single lot. 6.3 Sampling 6.3.1 The samples for the tensile test, the bending test, the pendulum impact test, the fatigue te
48、st and the hardness test are to be taken from the ends of the chain strands. The samples shall be dry and free from grease. 6.3.2 For the dimension test on the individual chain link, two round links and two flat links shall be randomly selected from a single lot. 6.3.3 For the tensile test, one samp
49、le shall be taken from each lot, so that three round links and two flat links are subjected to the tensile loading after being clamped.
