The level of detail contained in this detail specification is necessary to comply with therequirements of the Joint Computer - aided Acquisition and Life - cycle Support (JCALS) system.2 APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS2.1 G e n e r a l . The documents listed in this section are specified

The general manner of preparation shall be in accordance with the requirements ofMIL - STD - 3

13、8784. See for electronic delivery of this manual.Electronic media requirements: Page size requirements are N/A. All manuals shall be single column.Print media requirements: The manual shall be prepared in 8 by 1 1 - inch size. Unless otherwise specifiedby the acquiring activity , Chapters 1 and 2 sh

14、all be in double column format (see 6.2 b. ).3.2 C o n t e n t a n d a r r a n g e m e n t . The LOAP shall be arranged as follows:Front MatterChapter 1 - T echnical ManualsChapter 2 - Part Number to T echnical Order Number3.2.1 F r o n t m a t t e r . Front matter shall be prepared in accordance wi

16、e), table of contents and foreword, in accordance with the requirements ofMIL - STD - 38784.Print media requirements: Front matter shall consist of a title page, list of ef fective pages, verification statuspage (when applicable), table of contents (see figure 1 ), and foreword (see figure 2 ), in a

17、ccordance withthe requirements of MIL - STD - 38784.3.2.2 C h a p t e r 1 - T e c h n i c a l m a n u a l s . This chapter shall include all technical manuals (index type,general and technical, including checklists, inspection work - cards, inspection sequence charts, work unitcode manuals, etc.) ap

18、plicable to the specific equipment covered by the publication, including installedand support equipment. These listings shall also include commercial manuals and unpublished technicalmanuals being procured, or prepared, which have been assigned technical manual identification numbers.Supplemental ma

19、nuals shall be included, except those listed in 3.4 .3.2.2.1 T e c h n i c a l m a n u a l l i s t i n g s ( s e e fi g u r e 3 ) . The listings shall be in alphanumeric sequence, singleposition at a time (except as specified in 3.2.2.1.1 ), and under main series and sub - series headings. However ,

20、technical manual identification numbers beginning with numeral 1 through 9 shall be considered to bepreceded by a space; thus, T O 2J - TF39 - 2 shall be treated as “space 2J - TF39 - 2” in order to precede T O1 1A15 - 1 - 2. The main series headings used shall conform to the titles of the applicabl

21、e numerical indexes(see 6.4 ). The sub - series headings used shall be those applicable in the current issue of the variousnumerical indexes. Column headings shall be as follows:T O NUMBER TITLE TYPE T O NUMBER TITLE TYPEElectronic

27、 media: Scrolling table shall have only one column.3.2.2.2.1 T O n u m b e r c o l u m n . T echnical manual identification numbers shall be listed in alphanumericsequence (see 3.2.2.1 ). Dates of technical manuals shall not be shown.3.2.2.2.2 T i t l e c o l u m n . Publication titles shall conform

28、 to those contained in the applicable numerical indexes(see 6.5 ), and shall also conform to titles assigned to unpublished technical manuals. Where two or moremanual listings cover the same model(s) or type(s) of equipment, the complete title shall be shown for thefirst listed manual. Subsequent li

29、stings shall show “Same as T O XX - XXX - XX” in lieu of the complete title.3.2.2.2.3 T y p e c o l u m n . Publication type shall be indicated by the use of symbols, which shall be explainedin the introduction. If manuals are restricted by maintenance level, the symbol shall so indicate. The“ - W”

30、suf fix to publication type denotes winterization applicability . The “M - W” suf fix indicates a manualin which winterization instructions are included.3.2.3 C h a p t e r 2 - P a r t n u m b e r t o t e c h n i c a l o r d e r n u m b e r ( s e e fi g u r e 4 ) . Unless otherwise specified by thea

31、cquiring activity , this chapter shall be used (see 6.2 d. ). When not used, it shall be included and marked“Not applicable.” This chapter shall include all installed and support equipment to which a part number hasbeen assigned, and the technical manual identification number which has been assigned

32、 for that part number .This chapter shall be in alphanumeric sequence by part number . Column headings shall be as follows:P AR T NUMBER T O NUMBER P AR T NUMBER T O NUMBERElectronic media: This chapter shall be formatted as a scrolling table. The scrolling table shall haveonly one column.3.3 C h a

33、n g e s a n d r e v i s i o n s . Revisions shall be in accordance with the requirements of MIL - STD - 38784.3.4 I n f o r m a t i o n t o b e e x c l u d e d . The LOAP shall not include illustrations, time compliance technical orders,technical order page supplements, routine supplements, operatio

34、nal supplements, or safety supplements.4 VERIFICA TION4.1 V e r i fi c a t i o n r e q u i r e m e n t s . When the technical data produced according to this specification is of feredfor acceptance, all tests, reviews, and verifications required by the acquiring activity to determine thatit conforms

35、 to the requirements in section 3 of the specification, shall be performed as specified inthe solicitation or contract. The Air Force T echnical Order Policy and Procedures (AF T OPP) team,AFMC/A4UE, provides the specific requirements for verification of technical data developed and deliveredthrough

36、 this specification, as well as guidance for including these requirements in the solicitation or contract(see T O 00 - 5 - 3, AF T echnical Order Life Cycle Management, 2.2.2 ).4.2 C o m p l i a n c e . T echnical manuals (TMs) shall meet all requirements of section 3 of this specification andthe ap

37、propriate DTD appendix, as required by the acquiring activity (see 6.2 ). The requirements set forth inthis specification shall become a part of the contractor s overall inspection system or quality program.The absence of any requirements in this specification shall not relieve the contractor of the

38、 responsibilityof ensuring that all products or supplies, submitted to the government for acceptance, comply with allrequirements of the contract. Use of sampling inspections shall be at the discretion of the contractor , and inaccordance with commercially acceptable quality assurance procedures. Ho

40、8031G5 P ACKAGING5.1 P a c k a g i n g . For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as specified in the contract ororder (see 6.2 e. ). When packaging of materiel is to be performed by DoD or in - house contractor personnel,these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging

41、 activity to ascertain packaging requirements.Packaging requirements are maintained by the Inventory Control Point s packaging activities within theMilitary Service or Defense Agency , or within the military service s system commands. Packaging dataretrieval is available from the managing Military D

42、epartment s or Defense Agency s automated packagingfiles, CD - ROM products, or by contacting the responsible packaging activity .6 NOTES.(This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature that may be helpful, but is not mandatory .)6.1 I n t e n d e d u s e . The technical manual

43、s prepared in accordance with the requirements of this specificationare intended to enable personnel to select publications pertinent to the weapon, system, equipment, orvehicle to which the publication applies.6.2 A c q u i s i t i o n r e q u i r e m e n t s . Acquisition documents must specify th

44、e following:a. T itle, number , and date of this document.b. If this manual is prepared for paper or e - T O viewer output (see 3.1 ).c. If electronic delivery of this manual is required (see 3.1 ).d. If Chapter 2 - Part number to technical order number is not required (see 3.2.3 ).e. Packaging requ

45、irements (see 5.1 ).6.3 D e fi n i t i o n s .6.3.1 V e r i fi c a t i o n . V erification (section 4), in the context of this specification, equates to the contractor squality assurance program for validating the content of the manuals. Suggested validation methods include:a. Actual performance. Us

46、ing production configured equipment, hands - on performance of theprocedure using the technical instructions as written.b. Simulation. Using production configured equipment and the manual, simulate the actionsrequired by the task steps.c. T able top analysis. Primarily for nonprocedural data, compar

47、e the technical content to sourcedata to ensure the technical accuracy and depth of coverage.6.4 N u m e r i c a l i n d e x e s . The applicable numerical indexes are listed in T O 0 - 1 - 01 (see 3.2.2.1 ).6.5 P u b l i c a t i o n t i t l e s . Publication titles are contained in T O 0 - 1 - 01 a

48、nd - 02, 0 - 1 - 1 - 1 through - 5, and 0 - 1 - 2through - 51 (see 3.2.2.2.2 ).6.6 T e c h n i c a l m a n u a l s . The requirement for technical manuals should be considered when this specificationis applied to a contract. If technical manuals are required, specifications and standards that have b
