It does not apply to chopped s
20、trands made from staple fibres. 1.3 It is not intended to imply that chopped strands having the same designation give necessarily the same performance. Nor is the designation system intended to cover all the characteristics of chopped strands. This part 1 of EN 12971 does not give engineering data,

If such additional properties are required they should be determined in accordance with the test methods specified in EN 12971-2. 2 Normative references This European Stand

Additional terms are defined in part 2 of this standard. 4 Designation system The designation system for textile glass chopped strands is based on the following standardized

For unambiguous coding the individual item block is subdivided into data blocks comprising the following information: Data block 1 Identification of the glass type by its symbol
26、 according to EN ISO 2078; Data block 2 Designatory properties; Data block 3 Manufacturers code and/or size coating reference plus reference to whether the chopped strands are packed wet or dry. To ensure legibility: the description block is separated from the standard number by a comma; spaces are
27、inserted between blocks; the first character in the first individual item block is a dash; data blocks are separated from each other by a comma; a space is introduced between the positions in the blocks; if a data block is not used, this is indicated by two commas (,). NOTE This standardized pattern

30、 Data block 3 In this data block the manufacturers code and/or size coating reference is given. The reference is restricted to 5 digits, followed by a space and the letter D or W to designate wet or dry fibre.Page 4 EN 12971-1:1999 BSI 09-1999 5 Coding examples 5.1 An E glass, 10 micron fibre, 6 mm
