SCOPE The material described by this specification is a flexible, heat treated braided type “E“ glass fiber sleeving incorporating two or more significantly heavier ends which
3、 spiral around the circumference, providing a stand-off air gap for superior thermal insulating characteristics. A cross-linked polymeric coating is added to prevent fraying. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used in high temperature areas such as in the insulati
4、on sleeving for the thermostatic choke control tube or EGR tube. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard R

Coating must be sufficient to prevent fraying of a cut end when tapped lightly, and must improve the handling characteristics of the finished

GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 Basic insulation unaffected indefinitely at 250 C. For shorter periods, resists higher temperature up to 760 C. Color retention good up to 150 C.
