SCOPEThe material defined by this specification is a one component, heat curing, thermosetting, epoxystructural adhesive.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material primarily used for structur
、al bonding of a nickelplated aluminum base plate to a plastic housing in the ignition control module.3. REQUIREMENTSMaterial specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials.3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must
、conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 COLOR As specified on engineering drawing 3.3 VISCOSITY (Brookfield RVT, #7 spindle, 1 rpm at 25 C) As received 400 000 - 600 000 mPa.s 3.4 SOLIDS, min 99 % (ASTM D 2046, except heat at 102 +/- 3 C or 3 h in

、 SPECIFICATION ESF-M2G295-A Page 2 of 2 Copyright 2002, Ford Global Technologies, Inc. 3.5.2.2 Elevated Temperature, min 8.9 MPa Test Method: Condition samples at 82 +/- 1 C for 1 h. Pull to failure at 82 +/- 1 C. 3.5.2.3 Low Temperature, min 6.9 MPa Test Method: Condition at -29 C for 1 h. Pull to
、failure at -29 C. General Test Method: Chemically clean 25 x 100 x 1.6 mm aluminum coupons at 71 +/- 3 C in a solution of 30 parts of distilled water, 4 parts of sodium dichromate, and 10 parts of sulphuric acid (1.84 gr) for 5 min. Rinse thoroughly in running tap water and force dry for 15 min at 7
、0 +/- 1 C. Cool to 23 +/- 2 C. Coat aluminum with a thin film of adhesive and mate parts under finger pressure to obtain a total bond area of 6.5 cm2 (film thickness 0.08 - 0.25 mm). Bonded assemblies shall be pulled in a testing machine having a jaw separation rate of 2.5 mm/min. 3.5.3 Thermal Cond
、uctivity, min 1.000 W/m/ K, (ASTM C 209) 24 C mean temp. This test to be run for initial approval and as required by Quality Control. 3.6 STORAGE STABILITY The material shall be stored in closed containers at temperatures below 25 C away from all sources of heat. Heat greatly accelerates aging. Unde
、r these storage conditions, the minimum shelf life of the material shall be 6 months. However, when stored at 0 C the shelf life is extended to 12 months. When these materials are stored at temperatures below 23 C, they shall be conditioned at room temperature prior to application. Adequate conditio
、ning permits the material to obtain its maximum application properties. 3.7 QUALITY The material shall be a smooth homogeneous mixture, free from foreign materials and properties detrimental to normal production operations. 4. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarifica
、tion and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 4.1 CAUTION This material contains epoxy resins and curing agents that under certain conditions of use could be considered toxic. Prolonged and repeated skin contact with this material should be avoided. If skin contact occurs, the material should be removed with soap and water. Tools, equipment and fabricated parts can be cleaned with solvents such as Xylol (M14J245) or Chlorothene (M5B58).
