23、irements Skigogglesshallbefreefromsharpedgesorotherdefectswhicharelikelytocausediscomfortorinjuryduring intendeduse.Thisischeckedbyvisualinspection. 4.2Materials Nopartsoftheskigogglewhichareincontactwiththewearershallbemadeofmaterialsthatareknowntocause irritation,allergicortoxicreactioninanormalst

24、ateofhealthamongstasignificantproportionofusers. Thisischeckedbytheinspectionoftheinformationsuppliedbythemanufacturer. NOTE Rareoridiosyncraticreactiontoanymaterialmayoccurandmayindicatetheneedfortheindividualtoavoid particulartypesofmaterial.Adverseskinreactionmaybeduetoothercauses,e.g.excessiveco

25、ntactpressure. 4.3Sitandfit Skigogglesshallsitreliablywhenusedasintendedandadaptedtothecontoursoftheface.Thesurfacesin contactwiththefaceshallbemadeofsoftflexiblematerial.Theheadstrapshallbedesignedtobeflexibleor adjustableandsitsecurelyonthebackoftheheadorthehelmet.Theheadstrapassemblyshallwithstan

SkigogglesshallexhibitaminimumfieldofvisiondefinedbythetwoellipsesinFigure1whenplacedandcentered atadistanceof25mmfromthesurfaceoftheeyesoftheheadform.Thehorizontalaxisshallbeparalleltoand 0,7mmbelowtheheightofthelineconnectingthecentresofthetwoeyes

29、.Theplaneoftheellipsesshallbe paralleltothebackflatportionoftheheadform. Thehorizontallengthoftheellipsesshallbeof32mm,theverticalwidthoftheellipsesshallbeof25mm.The centredistanceofthetwoellipsesshallbe d= c +20mm,where cisthepupillarydistance.Thepupillarydistance is64mm,ifnotspecifieddifferentlyby

Onsotesting,thefollowingdefectsshallnotoccur: a) ocularfracture: Anocularshallbeconsideredtohavefracturedifitcracksthroughitsen

36、tirethicknessintotwoormore pieces,oriftheballpassesthroughtheocular; b) oculardeformation: Anocularshallbeconsideredtohavebeendeformedifamarkappearsonthewhitepaperonthe oppositesidetothatstruckbytheball; c) ocularhousingorframefracture: Anocularhousingshallbeconsideredtohavefailedifitseparatesintotw

37、oormorepieces,orifitisno longercapableofholdinganocularinposition,orifanunbrokenocularbecomesdetachedfromthe frame,oriftheballpassesthroughthehousingorframe. 5.3Protectionagainstwaterandsnow Theskigoggleshallbedesignedsothatnosnoworwatercanpenetratetheskigoggle. Theresultshallbeconsideredtobesatisfa

38、ctoryifnoliquidenterstheinsideoftheskigoggleduring thetestinaccordancewithclause12ofEN168:2001whensprayingfromthefrontonlyindirections perpendiculartotheflatportionatthebackoftheheadform. 5.4Resistancetoignition Skigogglesshallbetestedinaccordancewiththemethodspecifiedinclause7ofEN168:2001and shallb

39、econsideredtobesatisfactoryifnopartoftheskigoggleignitesorcontinuestoglowafter removalofthesteelrod. 5.5Suitabilityforcleaningandcare Allpartsoftheskigoggleshallbecapableorwithstanding,withoutvisiblechange,cleaningin accordancewithmanufacturersrecommendedmethods.Page8 EN174:2001 5.6Optionalspecifica
